The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has announced the appointment of new ambassadors to Italy and Hungary, effective July 1.
Tamar Liluashvili will serve as Georgia’s new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Italy. She will also act as the country’s Permanent Representative to the UN’s Rome-based agencies, including the FAO, IFAD, and WFP. Liluashvili previously held ambassadorial roles in Hungary and Bulgaria, and has extensive public sector experience, including leadership positions at the Georgian National Investment Agency Invest in Georgia and the RMG Group.
Nikoloz Laliashvili has been named Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Hungary. A former ambassador to Kazakhstan, Laliashvili has also served in key roles within the Ministry of Defense, the National Security Council, and as a Member of Parliament.
