Georgia’s national handball team is set for a difficult challenge at the 2026 European Championship after being drawn into Group E alongside Sweden, Croatia, and the Netherlands. This became news in Herning, Denmark where the final tournament groupings were determined.
The 2026 EHF Euro will be hosted jointly by Norway, Denmark, and Sweden from January 15 to February 1.
Georgia is making its second consecutive appearance at the European Championship, a notable achievement for the team. However, given that Sweden and Croatia are both handball powerhouses, with the Netherlands becoming quite strong in recent years as well, the path ahead is challenging.
The tournament is another milestone for Georgian handball on the international stage.
