Georgian fighter, Lieutenant Colonel Vano Nadiradze, head of the Georgian unit within Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, has reportedly died of a heart attack in Ukraine.
The news was shared on Facebook by fellow Georgian fighters currently in Ukraine.
One of Nadiradze’s comrades posted a video on Facebook, saying he was about 19 kilometers away from Vano when Nadiradze sent him his location and called for help.
An ambulance was dispatched, but unfortunately, they were unable to reach him in time.
Georgian fighters in Ukraine are expressing their condolences to Vano Nadiradze’s family.
This loss is deeply felt within the Ukrainian volunteer community. Vano Nadiradze’s death adds to the growing number of foreign volunteers who have fallen in the conflict since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.
