Billboard Georgia Stage Launches New Season with MonoNeon Concert

On June 4th, “Republic Event Hall” will host a sensational concert featuring renowned American bassist and funk musician, MonoNeon. The event is part of the concert series organized by Billboard Georgia and presented by SOLO, with Club Iveria as the general supporter. The concert will take place in partnership with Eastern Promotion.

MonoNeon, a Memphis-born bassist known for his improvisational style that gained prominence on YouTube, was one of the last musicians to work with Prince. His virtuosic playing style has led him to collaborate with artists such as Ghost-Note, Mac Miller, NAS, Bootsy Collins, Judith Hill, and Jacob Collier.

MonoNeon’s impressive discography of over 20 albums showcases his skills as a producer, instrumentalist, and vocalist. His lyrics and unconventional funk style have earned him critical acclaim on the global music scene. In 2020, he received a Grammy Award for his contribution to NAS’s studio album.

What sets MonoNeon apart is his unique left-handed bass technique, which involves playing the instrument upside down, allowing for distinct string bending techniques. His style is described as “funk with unconventional characteristics,” and he has been recognized as one of the rising bass stars by legendary bassist Marcus Miller in Bass Player Magazine.

Beyond music, MonoNeon incorporates humor, absurdity, and social commentary into his artistry, drawing inspiration from internet culture and everyday life situations.

Despite his avant-garde and experimental approach, MonoNeon remains deeply rooted in the traditions of funk and soul. His influences include legends like George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, and J Dilla, and his work continues to challenge genre conventions, solidifying his place as one of the most innovative and unconventional bassists today.
